A missed call still gets an answer

When a call to your AI number rings through to your cell instead, the caller gets a text from your shop straight away.
  • Sent when the AI is off, you're out of minutes or every line is busy
  • At most once every 12 hours for each caller
  • US numbers only

Sent straight away

Rivera Lock & Key: Sorry we missed your call. Reply here and we'll get right back to you.

At most once every 12 hours for each caller. US numbers only.

How it works

Step by step, in the order it happens.
  1. Get a texting number

Turn on texting and LockCommand gets you a local number, using your business phone's area code when one is free.
  2. Job texts go out on their own

When a tech is assigned, with the arrival time. When the tech is on the way, with minutes away and your license number if you've added it. A receipt when the job is paid. A review request two hours later.
  3. Replies land on the job

Customer replies show up in the job's text thread, so whoever has the job sees the whole conversation.
  4. AI drafts, a person sends

Press “Draft with AI” and it writes a reply from the thread. Edit it, then send. Nothing goes out without a person.
  5. Missed calls get a text

When a call to your AI number rings through to your cell instead (AI off, out of minutes, every line busy), the caller gets a text from your shop number straight away.

What you control

All of it is set in the app, most of it by the shop owner or an admin.
  • Automatic texts

One switch turns automatic job texts on or off for the whole shop.

  • Google review link

Add your link and review requests go out two hours after payment. No link, no request.

  • License number

Shown in the “on the way” text when you add it to your shop details.

  • AI call notes

On by default. Turn them off if you don't want them.

  • Text AI model

Pick the AI model family that writes notes and drafts: OpenAI, Claude or Gemini.

Honest limits

Worth knowing before you set it up, so nothing surprises you on a job.

Most missed calls happen at night. The after-hours guide covers how to handle them. After-hours locksmith calls

  • Texts are about jobs, never marketing. Customers can reply STOP at any time, and the first text to a new number says so.

  • There's no switch for each text yet. Automatic texts are on or off together, except review requests, which need a review link.

  • Missed-call text-back goes to each caller at most once every 12 hours, and only to US numbers.

  • Nothing texts the caller the moment the AI books. The first job text goes out when a tech is assigned.

  • US carriers require registered business texting. Texts can be limited until your registration is approved.

  • AI drafts can be wrong. Read them before you send.

Customer texts questions

What is missed-call text-back?
When a call to your AI number goes to your cell instead of the AI, for example because the AI is off, you're out of minutes or every line is busy, the caller gets a text from your shop saying sorry you missed them and inviting a reply. Each caller gets it at most once every 12 hours.
Do customers see texts from LockCommand or from my shop?
From your shop. Texts come from your shop's own LockCommand number and name your shop.
Does the AI send texts by itself?
No. AI reply drafts and the suggested text in call notes wait for a person to send them. Only the automatic job texts go out on their own.
What do AI call notes include?
A two-sentence summary, what the caller needs, how urgent it is (emergency, today or flexible), the next step and a suggested text. Notes skip spam, voicemail and calls under 10 seconds.
Do texts cost extra?
Automatic job texts aren't charged to your wallet. AI reply drafts and AI call notes are paid from wallet credit at the price shown in the app.
