An AI receptionist that answers like your shop.

It picks up on your own local number, day and night. It quotes from your price book, books the job, and hands the call to your cell when a caller wants a person.

House lockout, keys inside, caller waiting outside. Urgency: emergency. Next step: send the closest tech.

It only says your prices

The AI quotes from the price book you set, never from a guess. At night it adds your after-hours surcharge and tells the caller the tech confirms the final price on site.

How it works

Step by step, in the order it happens.
  1. The call rings your AI number

Callers dial the local number LockCommand gives you, or your business line forwarded to it. The AI answers with your greeting, in English or Spanish.
  2. It finds out what the caller needs

One question at a time: name, callback number, what's locked or broken, and the address. For car jobs it asks the year, make, model and color. It asks whether it's an emergency or can wait.
  3. It quotes from your price book

It looks up the job and gives the range you set, plus your after-hours surcharge at night, and says the tech confirms the final price on site. If the job isn't in your book, it says the tech will give a price on arrival.
  4. It books the job

The job and the customer are created while the caller is still on the line, with the quoted range saved. In shops using AI dispatch it can give an estimated arrival time; otherwise it says the team will text it.
  5. You get the notes

After the call you get the recording, the transcript and AI notes: a short summary, how urgent it is and the next step.

What you control

All of it is set in the app, most of it by the shop owner or an admin.
  • Greeting

The first thing callers hear, up to 300 characters. The default one introduces the AI as your shop's virtual assistant.

  • Languages

English, Spanish, or both. With both, it starts in English and switches when the caller speaks Spanish.

  • Price book

Up to 100 jobs, each with a low and a high price and its own after-hours surcharge. New shops start with eight common locksmith jobs to edit.

  • Hours and service area

Short notes the AI reads to callers who ask. Addresses outside your service area are flagged on the job.

  • Transfer number

The cell that gets callers who ask for a person, complaints and supplier calls. Without one, the AI takes a message.

  • AI brain

Budget, Balanced or Premium, or a specific OpenAI, Claude or Gemini model. The brain sets the per-minute price after your plan minutes.

  • Recording notice

On by default. Every AI call starts with a short notice that the call is recorded, in the caller's language (English or Spanish). The owner can turn it off.

  • Call length

How long a call can run before the AI wraps up, from 3 to 8 minutes.

Honest limits

Worth knowing before you set it up, so nothing surprises you on a job.

Weighing this against voicemail or a human answering service? The guide compares all of them. Locksmith answering service guide

  • It never guesses a price. A job that isn't in your price book gets “the technician will give a price on arrival”.

  • It won't explain how to open a lock, and it tells callers to hang up and call 911 if a child, a vulnerable person or a pet is locked in a car.

  • After-hours pricing follows a fixed rule in your shop's time zone: before 8 a.m., from 6 p.m., and all day Sunday.

  • Each shop runs up to 5 AI calls at the same time. Callers past that ring through to your cell.

  • Numbers are US only. The area code comes from your business phone when one is available.

  • Calls are recorded and transcribed. The recording notice is on by default; if you turn it off, telling callers is up to you where your state requires it.

  • AI can mishear a street name or a model. Check the job before you drive.

AI receptionist questions

Which AI models can my shop choose?
Pick a tier (Budget, Balanced or Premium) or a specific OpenAI, Claude or Gemini model. Plan minutes cover any of them. After that, minutes cost $0.16 to $0.26 a minute from your wallet, depending on the tier.
How do I send my calls to the AI?
Turn on the AI receptionist in the app and you get a local number right away. Forward your business line to it (on most US carriers that starts with *72), or set your carrier to forward only when you're busy or don't answer.
Can it answer in Spanish?
Yes. Set it to Spanish for every call, or to English and Spanish so it starts in English and switches when the caller speaks Spanish.
What happens when every line is busy or I'm out of minutes?
The call goes straight to your cell, and LockCommand doesn't charge you for it. If texting is on, the caller also gets a text from your shop number.
Can the AI tell callers when the tech will arrive?
In dispatch shops using Suggest, Offer or Auto dispatch, it gives an estimate from live drive times. Solo shops and shops in Manual mode get “the team will text you the arrival time shortly”.
